Kolayad parish, being the first parish to be erected under the patronage of St. Alphonsa in the world, gave a providential chance to F.C.C. sisters to open a convent on 26th July 1988 in order to serve in the pilgrimage centre of St. Alphonsa and also to render their inspired service to the believing parish community in collaboration with the parish priest
